SVOD platforms have increased cultural ties and favored the internationalization of productions in Spanish, with a potential audience of six-hundred million Spanish-speakers. The rise of the audiovisual industry in Spain, Mexico, and Colombia offers new opportunities for women, until now a minority in all the professional categories, especially in leadership positions. This is exemplified by Netflix, as its catalogue barely offers series created by women (we found eight Spanish ones, two Mexican, and one Colombian). These encompass many genres, but use tags that allude to emotions or love, becoming pigeonholed into topics that have been traditionally associated to women.
