The WRO Biennale in Wrocław exemplifies the evolution of media art, from visibly mechanical devices to immersive systems based on artificial intelligence, sensors and algorithms. Through a comparative analysis of the 2013, 2015, 2023 and 2025 editions, the study demonstrates how artworks transform the viewer into an active participant while exploring material, temporal and socio-political dimensions. WRO functions as a critical laboratory, offering museums the opportunity to anticipate emerging artistic strategies, develop adaptive curatorial practices and design innovative approaches to mediation and conservation, integrating new technologies as expressive, conceptual and participatory tools.
